Top local talent to showcase skills at BIC

ManamaBahrain International Circuit (BIC) sets the stage for top local talent to showcase their skills when National Race Day takes place on Friday in Sakhir.

The kingdom’s three hotly contested circuit racing championships will be hitting the tarmac. They include the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, the Bahrain Superbike Championship (BSBK), and the Bahrain Motorcycle Racing (BMR) 600.

Action gets underway at 9.15am under daylight and continues until past 7pm when BIC’s 2.55-kilometre Inner Track will be brilliantly illuminated. All are welcome to attend and enjoy a full day’s racing. Tickets are available at the gate. 

The 2,000cc Challenge will be holding the third round of its 2017/2018 season. Practice will get all the action going in the morning. It will then hold Qualifying at 10.25am to determine the start grid for Race One at 11.58am. Race Two will be at 1.15pm.

The BSBK will be holding their second round of competition this season. Their first session at 3.45pm will be a Practice, to be followed at 4.55pm by Qualifying. Race One flags off at 6.02pm, to be followed by Race Two at 7.07pm.

There will also be racing in the BSSB, which is the new class in the BSBK. These riders will be holding Practice at 9.50am and then Qualifying at 11am. That sets up the grid for the only race of the day at 12.42pm.

In the BMR 600, the weekend will be staging the championship’s third round. Practice is at 3.10pm gets the BMR riders on the tarmac, and then once again for Qualifying at 4.20pm. Race One will be held at 5.27pm, to be followed by Race Two at 6.34pm.
