DANAT authenticates an impressive number of stones
Manama : The Bahrain Institute for Pearls & Gemstones (DANAT) held its first participation at Jewellery Arabia 2017 with approximately 600 customers with 1,356 precious jewellery items approaching DANAT during the five-day trade show for its complimentary consultation and testing services.
Collectively, thousands of diamonds and other gemstones were examined by Danat’s gemmologists on behalf of the trade and general public. Furthermore, numerous items incorporating approximately 3,500 pearls were submitted for further testing and official certification at DANAT’s recently established laboratory.
DANAT offered a wide array of services in addition to its complementary verification and consultation services, including educational seminars by its team of expert gemmologists and globally renowned researchers and private consultants.
Commenting on the Institute’s participation, DANAT’s Chief Executive Officer, Kenneth Scarratt said, “Our success at this important jewellery affair is indicative of strong consumer and trader demand for a trusted third-party verification and authentication partner. We’re proud also to have established an important partnership with leading industry player, Al Zain Jewellery, for whom DANAT is an official authentication and verification provider.”
Showcasing the diverse range of topics and industry needs, DANAT’s consultant, Vincent Pardieu, offered daily lectures to members of the public and exhibition visitors about the latest discoveries of blue sapphires and amphibole ruby deposits. He was joined by Peter Balogh, Managing Director of Venezuela’s Funda Prehistoria (Prehistoric Foundation).
