Arabian Gulf University graduate wins award

Manama : An Arabian Gulf University (AGU) graduate Dr Dana Alhaqan has won the 2017 Infantile Spasms Heroes Award, presented annually by the American Child Neurology Foundation to doctors distinguished in diagnosing cases of Infantile Spasms in children worldwide, which is a source of great pride given how difficult the condition is to diagnose.

Dr Alhaqan, a paediatrician at the Amiri Hospital in Kuwait, said that this award was the result of ardent efforts exerted to arrive at a correct diagnosis of Infantile Spasms (IS) in children, stating that the disease is very difficult to diagnose, due to similarity of its symptoms with other diseases.

The award is presented by the American Child Neurology Foundation at the Annual Conference of the American Neurological Association in December every year.
