Bahrain warns US recognition of Jerusalem threatens Middle East peace
Manama : The Kingdom of Bahrain has affirmed that the decision of the American administration to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel threatens the peace process in the Middle East and disrupts all initiatives and negotiations to reach the anticipated final solution.
It is also a clear violation of international resolutions that affirm the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people without any prejudice to them and that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory whose occupation must be ended.
The Kingdom has also stressed its steadfastness in supporting the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing the importance of preserving the pivotal role of the United States of America to reach a two-state solution based on international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
