Terrorists are like microbes in wounds, says Al Saud
Manama : Terrorism is a disease that grows in the environment that feeds it, King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies Board Chairman Prince Turki Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said here yesterday.
“Terrorism can be compared to a wounded human being. Microbes grow on the wound. Terrorism spreads in areas that lack control, no authority to face it, not only in terms of security, but also socially and intellectually. Unfortunately, President Assad, in my opinion, is a terrorist, because he created the circumstances for these organisations to multiply and kill the innocent,” Al Saud said while speaking on the sidelines of the 13th edition of the Regional Security Summit “Manama Dialogue 2017”.
Al Saud took part in a televised panel discussion held on the opening of the event, which is organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) for the past 12 years, under the patronage of the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Saudi Prince, who served as the Ambassador of the Kingdom to the United States in 2005, participated in a debate on terrorism titled “After Raqqa: Stabilising the Middle East and Fighting Terrorism Worldwide” on Friday, was the third speaker in the discussion alongside Iraqi Foreign Minister and Former Prime Minister Ibrahim Al Jaafari and Indonesian Wahid Foundation Director Yenny Wahid.
