Nightclubs, bars shut for flouting norms in Bahrain

ManamaAt least 14 nightclubs, bars and lounges have been either closed down or suspended for “repeated” violations of regulations, as per ministerial resolutions recently announced.

Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayid bin Rashid Al Zayani issued 14 resolutions on Wednesday, stipulating the closure of these facilities in four and five-star hotels located in Juffair, Seef, Manama and other areas.

The resolutions were published in the Official Gazette on Thursday and mentioned that the outlets were closed as per the recommendations of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.

It was also mentioned that Resolutions 208-2022 for the year 2017 taken by Minister Al Zayani were because of the outlets’ violations of the provisions of tourism regulations in Bahrain in a way that harms national interests.

Similar decisions were taken by the minister earlier this year by shutting down a number of first-class restaurants, bars and discos in a few four and five-star hotels in the capital.
