US, China Bahrain top trading partners’

Manama Bahrain’s import value has reached nearly BD438 Million in November with United States of America ranking first in the countries exporting to Bahrain with BD61 million. Saudi was ranked first in the countries importing from Bahrain with BD45m. 

The trade balance, difference between exports and imports, increase in the value of the deficit in November 2017 reaching an amount of BD222 Million.

Additionally, the value of the exported national origin has reached approximately BD176 Million. The top ten countries account for 81% of the exported national origin value and 19% for other countries.

This was revealed in the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Foreign Trade Report of November 2017, which encompasses balance of trade, imports, exports (National Origin) and re-exports. 

Tugs and pusher craft emerged as the top product imported to Bahrain with BD32 Million, while four-wheel drive cars as the second with BD19 Million. Non-agglomerated ores and concentrates were the third products with BD16 Million during November 2017.

China second

When it comes to exports to Bahrain, according to the report, China is at the second spot with BD54 Million whereas the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ranked third with BD38 Million. 

United Arab Emirates (UAE) was ranked second in terms of importing from Bahrain with BD45 Million. United States of America comes third place with BD23 Million.

Iron ores tops

As for exported products, Agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the top products exported in November 2017 with BD25 Million; Aluminum wires were positioned second products exported with a value of BD17 Million; and unwrought aluminum alloys stood third place for exported products with BD13 Million.

Four-wheel drive cars

In regards to the re-exported field, the value has reached BD40 Million. The top ten countries account for 94% of the re-exported value and 6% for other countries. Saudi Arabia was ranked as the first country to re-export from Bahrain with BD13 Million, China ranked as the second with BD11 Million, and UAE as the third with BD5 Million.

Four-wheel drive cars emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD12 Million, cigarettes came as second products with BD3 Million, and parts for motor vehicles with compression-ignition came as the third with BD2 Million.
