2018 resolutions…and hopeless dreams
In less than a day we will receive 2018, a year we all hope will bring us happiness and joy.
We will all start the year reflecting on our actions and deeds and attempting to be better in 2018.
And we will all have dreams that if 2017 didn’t give, we hope 2018 will.
Despite the satisfaction I have with all aspects of my life, like any other woman, 2018 will certainly mean having a resolution that certainly evolves around losing weight.
20 pounds must go by the end of 2018.So, many diets will be experimented.
In 2018, I have to start a campaign I have always dreamt of initiating, to help the less fortune and I hope that through the newspaper, this campaign will start soon.
These are my two resolutions, one is about me and one is about the world I live in.A fter all ,we should all have an obligation towards others, others who don’t have the lives we do, the privileges we have.
My dreams won’t come true. I know that in 2018 I won’t see the end to the death of children all around the world. I know that the wars won’t stop. I know that starvation of children won’t stop neither will we as a rich world will stop throwing food away.
I know that Ramadhan will come and food waste will be higher than ever.
I know that the atrocities practiced by the Israeli soldiers against Palestinian children won’t stop.
I know that terrorists won’t stop killing people all around the world, although I can’t wish for anything more than people having at least the right to live safe, without the fear of being driven over or shot in the head, killed in a bomb blast or attacked by a knife and stabbed to death.
I know that extremist minds should be eradicated but I also know that it won’t as long as there are figures who benefit from extremist ideologies.
I know Iraq and Palestine are two lost causes and I know that the Iranians have just again gone to the streets protesting about their miserable lives since the so called Islamic revolution.
I therefore know that wishful thinking is great but being realistic is greater because we at least know what we can have and what we can’t.
2018, on the political levels won’t be better than 2017.But all we can hope for is the loss of less human lives. Tomorrow night we will receive you and we hope that contrary to our analysis, you may surprise us with some good news. Welcome 2018.
