Expat not yet given passport to attend father’s last rites

Manama :  The Indian expatriate whose father passed away on November 24 is still awaiting anxiously to perform his father’s last rites as his sponsor allegedly refused to hand over the passport to him.

“The sponsor is unnecessarily creating trouble and giving excuses of possible fraud. We did manage to receive a letter from the relative where he has stated that there was no fraud in the stock count,” said a source.

“Moreover, the workers are in a miserable condition. We did take Rajesh’s case to LMRA so that he could obtain his passport back. When asked by the authority to show up at LMRA the sponsor failed to show up too,” he source said.

“Rajesh is now helpless and is anxiously waiting to go back to his hometown and perform his father’s last rites as his mother is still in a shock and in the hospital as it was extremely difficult for her to cope up with the loss,” the source added.

DT News further tried to contact the sponsor but was unable to reach the sponsor.

DT News had reported on the incident and Rajesh’s plea to go back to his home country as his sponsor refused to give his passport back, claiming that Rajesh must be involved in cheating and would only give his passport back on a guarantee.
