Three babies born in first two hours of New Year in Bahrain

ManamaThree newborns were registered in Bahrain during the first three hours of the New Year.

Health Ministry announced that the first baby born this year was a girl for an Indian family residing in Umm Al Hassam. The mother, Umao Chanel, delivered the baby in Samlaniya Medical Complex at 12:39 am weighing 3.8 KG.

“The second and third deliveries were at Jidhafs Maternity Hospital. Both babies were for Bahraini families and were born at 1:50 am and 2:50 am. They weighed 3.1 and 3.7 KG. The mother of the second baby was Zainab Abdulla from Hamad Town and other mother was Zainab Jaffar from Al Daih village,” Health Ministry confirmed in a statement issued here yesterday.

The ministry clarified that 9 deliveries were recorded at Salmaniya Medical Complex and Jidhafs Maternity Hospital in the first seven hours of the year, and that they were five females and four males, including a twin.

As for the last day of 2016, 26 deliveries were recorded in both hospitals, including 14 females and 12 males.

The ministry congratulated the leadership, government, citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of the new year and wished the new parents a long happy life with their newborns.
