Wait over for Bahrain expat worker

ManamaThe Indian expatriate whose father passed away on November 24 is finally relieved as his sponsor has agreed to give back his passport to perform his father’s last rites.

“Rajesh finally will leave Bahrain today, as the sponsor has finally agreed to give back his passport. We have withdrawn the case against the sponsor as the sponsor agreed to give Rajesh the release. The sponsor has provided him with a flight ticket, cleared his pending salary and gave him some petty cash,” said a source.

“I take this opportunity to thank Alok Kumar, the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Anand Prakash, the Second Secretary, Faeza Khan, Head of Migrant Workers Assistance and Protection Unit and all those who worked to get the matter settled in a smooth way,” Rajesh said.

DT News had reported Rajesh’s plea to go back to his home country to perform his father’s last rites were rejected as his sponsor refused to give his passport back, claiming that Rajesh must be involved in cheating and would only give his passport back on a guarantee.
