Al Noor positions as one of "Top Schools"

Al Noor International School has become one of the top international schools in the Gulf. Recently the eighteenth batch of IGCSE, seventeenth batch of AS Level and sixteenth batch of A Level students success- fully completed the Cambridge International Examinations Board examinations.

Al Noor International School once again finds it- self in the lime light this year with 211A*, 295A’s and 326 B’s in Cambridge IGCSE examinations held in June 2017 with 61% of the grades in A*, A and B category. In A Level, there were 12 A*, 61 A grades and 60 B grades. In AS Level, there were 76 A grades and 67 B grades. The school continues to set a benchmark and remains a leader in the field of education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Also more than 50% of the grades were A*, A’s and B’s.

It was the vision of its Founder and Chairman, Mr Ali Hasan, which saw Al Noor emerge in 1993 from its humble beginnings in Mahooz to the vast institution it is today, supporting the families of a very large section of the Bahrain population. At the time, Mr Ali recognized the need for a school which would provide a family ethos and access to a range of curricula, while remaining affordable to those who would other- wise not have the funds for a private education. With this in mind, he sought the guidance of the University of Cambridge to provide the British

Curriculum starting from Grade 1 and culminat- ing in Advanced Level qualifications. Al Noor has been recognised as a Fellowship Centre for Cambridge International Exams, a distinction shared by very few international schools in the Gulf. Besides the British Curriculum, Al Noor of- fers as other options, both the Bahraini and the CBSE curricula. This means that students, on completing their KG years, are able to choose from three curricula, all of which prepare students to enroll at universities and colleges throughout the world.

Al Noor is also a recognized exam Centre for Ministry of Examinations for Grades 9 to 12. The fact that the tenth group of Bahraini section Grade 12 students ap- peared for their final year exams in June 2017 and achieved a 100% pass with high marks, is equally remarkable and noteworthy. Part of the school’s mission is to provide a compre- hensive education to the students of Indian curriculum within a conducive multicultural environment, aiming at their all-round devel- opment. Being a recognized CBSE Centre, the tenth batch of Grade 10 and seventh batch of grade 12 students who wrote the exams in March 2017 have achieved an excellent pass rate.

Over the years, the school’s management has given prominence to modern trends in edu- cation and this focus has resulted in further assistance and commitment from Cambridge. Greater emphasis was placed on teacher train- ing and development, recognising the need for well-trained, confident teachers. Recently the group of teachers successfully completed their Cambridge Diplomas. Al Noor has responded positively to the need for greater emphasis in the area of information technology and it is now possible for students throughout the school to qualify for Cambridge ICT diplomas at various levels, in addition to their IGCSE, AS and A Level qualifications. These certificates pro- vide an added incentive to students to improve their proficiency and ultimately keep up with the pace of technological developments.
