Shaikh Nasser orders to pay rewards for handball team
Manama : HM the King’s Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has given directives to disburse the victory rewards for the Bahrain National Handball Team for beating their Saudi counterparts in the semi-finals and qualifying for the final of the 2018 Asian Men’s Handball Championship, currently hosted by South Korea.
BOC Secretary-General, Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, affirmed that BOC will begin implementing HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives, and is working on transferring the cash payment to the players in South Korea.
Askar extended sincere thanks and gratitude to HH Shaikh Nasser for his constant support for Bahraini athletes and unwavering keenness on awarding Bahraini sports achievers and winners, which, he said, will motivate them to perform well.
He highlighted BOC’s desire to award all top-achieving national teams, including the handball team, in line with HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives.
Askar also congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser’s on the team’s qualification for the final of the Asian Men’s Handball Championship, noting that the exploit is the fruitful outcome of his support for the national teams, citing the National Handball Team’s qualification for the World Cup 2019 for the fourth time in a row.
BOC secretary-general also congratulated the Board of Directors of Bahrain Handball Association Chairman, Ali Eshaqi, and members, as well as the members of the technical and administrative staff for the team’s results, wishing them every success in the final.
