KHCB names Al Marrkhi “Al-Waffer’s Millionaire”

Manama : Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB) announced it has concluded the eighth edition of its Al Waffer account, after realizing the dreams of six of its investors, with the most fortunate being Abdullah Juma Ali Al Marrkhi, who won the One Million US Dollar Grand Prize.

The draw for the Million Dollar Grand Prize - the largest prize presented by KHCB to Al Waffer subscribers last year - took place at Harbour Gate within Bahrain Financial Harbour. 

Tawfeeq Mohamed Bastaki, Chief Risk Officer & Acting CEO, presented the grand prize to the winner on behalf of the bank’s management.

Abdullah Juma Ali Al Marrkhi is the last lucky winner in the 8th edition of this investment account which was launched in 2009 in line with KHCB’s commitment to providing a rewarding and pioneering banking experience to its esteemed customers.

Last year’s edition of Al Waffer account had 6 lucky clients winning major prizes including US $ 200,000, a furnished apartment in Amwaj Islands, a monthly salary of BD 500 and a luxury Porsche Macan, concluding with Abdullah Al Marrkhi winning the One Million US Dollar Grand Prize.

Commenting on the occasion, Tawfeeq Mohamed Bastaki said: “Today we are pleased to have completed the 8th edition of Al Waffer account amid great success, to announce the launch of the new edition of 2018 titled “Al Waffer Salaries” under the slogan “an extra salary on us”. 

He added: “There will be 30 monthly winners of BD 500 cash prizes, as well as monthly major prizes of BD 500 salaries and cash prizes of BD 50,000. The new edition will conclude with a grand prize of BD 100,000 and a monthly salary of BD 1,000 for 10 years. We have also chosen to maintain the minimum sum of opening an account and deposits to BD 25, in order to give more customers the chance to win.”
