Governor inspects Sitra Central Market

Manama : In accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers to overhaul the Sitra Central Market, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, yesterday paid a field visit to the market. Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Capital Trustees Board Director-General, Capital Police Director-General, Brigadier Khalid Al-Dhawadi, and officials from the relevant ministries were also present.

The Governor was briefed about the urgent requirements of the market and plans to revamp it in order to meet the demands of the people of the region.

The Governor praised the decision of the Council of Ministers  chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister and His Highness the Crown Prince to revamp the market.

The governor lauded HRH Premier’s constant follow-up on all issues of major concern to the citizens, as well as his keenness on removing all obstacles facing them. During the visit, Shaikh Hisham was informed about the remarks of the merchants and visitors about the market’s facilities and services which require maintenance.

He reviewed the plans prepared by the Ministry of Works and Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning to upgrade the market to become a centre, equipped with all facilities that serve both vendors and shoppers.
