Horse racing festival gets a Royal fillip
Manama : Bahraini youth’s enthusiasm in preserving authentic Bahraini and Arab racing heritage was hailed yesterday by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Speaking while attending the Cup of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince at Rashid Equestrian and Horse racing club, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister said their “hard work does much to preserve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s international reputation in the sport”.
HRH the Crown Prince also noted the enthusiasm of the crowd in attendance, pointing out that their excitement was “a testament to the high quality and competitiveness of the racing”.
HRH Prince Salman congratulated the winners and presented the Cup of the Supreme Committee of the Club to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Oaks Al Bahrain Cup to Fawzi Abdulla Nass, the Crown Prince’s Cup for Arabian Horses to Abdulla Kuwaiti, the Crown Prince’s Cup for local produce to Shaikh Salman bin Mohamed Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince’s Cup for imported horses to Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the venue, HRH the Crown Prince was received by Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club and Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the race.
HRH the Crown Prince praised the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, chaired by Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, for their hard work in preparing and organising the horse racing season.
