BSPCA to file case against man who abandoned horse to die

ManamaBSPCA Animal Welfare Center will file a case against a horse owner who discarded his severely injured horse.

The horse was left to die in an open public area in Aali, after it injured its legs. BSPCA found the horse and reported it to the authorities. BSPCA stated that it will file a case against the owner. It is not known how the horse sustained the injuries.

“The Chairman of the BSPCA Mahmoud Faraj confirmed that the BSPCA will be filing a case tomorrow at the Public Prosecution against the owner. Faraj blamed the owner, and described him as inhumane and ruthless,” BSPCA stated.

“How did he allow himself to simply discard the horse in a deserted area without food and water?” BSPCA Chairman Mahmoud Faraj asked.

“If the owner had contacted us or the Ministry of Agriculture’s Animal Wealth directorate, we would have done the necessary work to take care of the case, but unfortunately he acted inhumanely towards this horse,” he said.

The injured horse was euthanized by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Animal Wealth directorate to end its suffering, which is a standard  procedure in such cases.

Faraj thanked the Animal Wealth directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture for their cooperation and prompt response.
