DJ gets 11 years for selling Marijuana
A : foreign Disco Jockey, on trial for selling Marijuana in the Kingdom, was found guilty by the First High Criminal Court and sentenced to 11 years imprisonment.
The 30-year-old man will also have to pay a fine of BD5,000. He was caught red-handed while selling Marijuana worth BD1,400 to a police informer.
The First High Criminal Court also sentenced the American national’s friend to one-year imprisonment and to pay a fine of BD500 for drugs abuse.
The Court has also ordered to deport them after completing jail term.
Court files show that the American was trapped by the anti-narcotics police after receiving a tip-off.
At the time of the incident, the accused was working as a DJ in a local hotel in the Kingdom.
An undercover agent, who established a relationship with the American, made him sell BD1, 400 worth of Marijuana.
At his apartment in Juffair, the defendant handed over 11 rolled marijuana cigarettes to the informer, who notified the police.
Police also arrested the second defendant and seized BD1,759 in cash from the apartment.
They were accused by the Public Prosecution of drug peddling and drugs abuse.
