Bahrain national team clinch GCC basketball trophy
Muscat : Bahrain national basketball junior team yesterday clinched the 16th GCC Championship, beating Saudi Arabia 100/59 in the final march which was played at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman.
Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) Chairman His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa attended the final match, alongside other GCC sports personalities.
He dedicated the landmark achievement to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
He also dedicated the trophy to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa congratulated the administrative and technical staff, hailing the players for their superb performance which enabled them to cling the title.
