CCG raises more than BD8000 to help cancer patients
Manama : The Cancer Care Group (CCG) raised over BD8000 to help Cancer patients in the Kingdom through its ‘Charity Gala Dinner’.
The gala dinner, held under the patronage of Ministry of Health on 13th December 2017 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, raised BD8360 which was presented to Bahrain Cancer Society (BCG) at a meeting held at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam.
Thirty-five Cheques amounting to a total of BD8360 were handed over to President of Bahrain Cancer Society, Dr Abdul Rahman Fakhro, by Dr P. V. Cheriyan, President of Cancer Care Group (CCG), in the presence of K. T. Saleem, General Secretary CCG, Sudheer Thirunilath, Treasurer CCG and other Executive members.
“We are pleased to make our humble contribution to Bahrain Cancer Society for the well being of the Cancer patients in Bahrain on the brink of our 3rd Anniversary,” Dr P. V. Cheriyan, President CCG said.
He explained: “The activities of CCG includes regular hospital visit to cancer wards to support the needy, awareness programmes at schools, universities, medical camps and seminars in association with traffic and civil defence directorate and visits to the psychiatric hospital.”
“We bring reputed Oncologists from India to provide guidance and also to help the patients going back to India to continue their treatment at reputed Cancer centres at affordable rates,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by over 50 members of CCG Executive Committee members, Advisory Board, Ladies’ Wing and Voluntary Group.
Radhakrishna Pillai, President, Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam and Ahmed Ali, Secretary General, Bahrain Cancer Society spoke on the occasion.
Supporters of the event include Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, The New Indian School, Jashanmal & Sons, Shaikha Hessa Girl’s School, Trafco, Al Noor International School, National Fire & Safety, Bidayaat Events Management, Bin Faqeeh Real Estate, Bahrain Financing Company (BFC) and Malabar Gold.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Rahman Fakhro emphasised the need for early detection and treatment to avoid further complications in future.
