Bahrain, US bolster ties
Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday received the Chairman of the United States Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Richard Burr and a delegation of senators, at the Bahrain Defence Force General Command.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness affirmed that the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States is based on a longstanding legacy of effective bilateral communication and coordination across various areas and sectors.
His Royal Highness highlighted that the relationship is underpinned by trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment by the leaderships of both countries to pursue positive change at home and abroad. His Royal Highness noted that the outcome of joint efforts to advance bilateral relations is evidenced clearly in strong levels of cooperation across security, trade and the economy.
His Royal Highness stressed the need to continue expanding cooperation to reinforce regional security and stability, noting that shared policy approaches are essential if the international community is to effectively combat terrorism and extremist ideologies.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss a number of issues of common interest, as well as ongoing efforts aimed at bolstering Bahrain-US ties.
For his part, Senator Richard Barr thanked His Royal Highness for the opportunity to meet with him and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its strong partnership with the US, which has both advanced and reinforced bilateral relations. Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander in Chief of the BDF, and Shaikh Khaled bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also attended the meeting.
