Sparta claim challenge cup
Manama : Teams from Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) and Sparta Tennis competed in the inaugural edition of the 10&U Team Tennis Challenge Cup, held at Sparta’s base at St. Christopher’s School, Saar. The meeting between the two academies featured six players, ten-years-and-under, from each team. Each competitor played six short singles matches, once against each player from the opposing team. The teams then competed in one round of doubles which was worth double points when the total scores were calculated.
At the end of proceedings, Sparta claimed the Challenge Cup, scoring 29 points compared to BTA’s 13 points. Sparta Team Captain, Faisal Maseeh, was presented the 10&U Team Tennis Challenge Cup by BTA Director, Dan Barrie.
Two ‘Player of the Meet’ medals were also awarded to the most outstanding player from each team.
