New mosque opened in Muharraq

Manama : A new mosque named after Mubarak and Fatima Kanoo opened today in Muharraq City. Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa inaugurated the BD250, 000 mosque, which was completed recently.

Located in Northeast Muharraq, the new mosque covers 565 square meters, with a capacity to accommodate 285 worshippers. The minister hailed the Kanoo family, lauding their dedicated efforts to promote charity projects, support religious, social and national events and contribute to social development institutions.

He paid tribute to late Mubarak bin Jassim Kanoo who was supervising personally the Kanoo Family’s charity projects, which include the construction of mosques and health centres. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for promoting worshipping venues. The opening ceremony was attended by Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Farid bin Yacoub Al-Meftah, ministry’s officials, Fawzi Kanoo, Khalid Kanoo, Nabil Kanoo, Saud Kanoo and other Kanoo members.
