The conference will feature talks by industry experts on topics such as programming, design, ethics and the business of making game and more.

“The event is tailored to all the game developers in the GCC. It is an event by the game developers for the game developers and we want to keep it that way,” said  Ameen Altajer, Managing Director of INFINITEWARE.

“We’ll be hosting a variety of talks on topics like art, engineering, programming, design, ethics and the business of making games, this caters to a wide spectrum of audience.  In addition to success stories in the GCC, and important panels, which will allow the audience to hear what the government and educational institutions have to offer in order to support the craft and the business of game development,” he said.

The conference will run alongside GCC game jam, a 48 hours game development hackathon which will be launched on March 1.

“We reveal the theme on the day of the competition deliberately to make the competition fair, where everyone starts at the same point. Contestants will have to take the theme, analyze it well, and come up with components that they can use as key elements in their game. Whether it is art, sound effects, music or fun game elements. The aim is to see how developers take their ideas from crude verbal words to tangible projects that translate the theme in an interactive fashion,” he said.

First place winners of GCC Game Jam will win BD1500.

Both events are organized as part of Start Up Bahrain week.
