UNIDO, AOAD ink deal to boost farm sector

Manama :  : The United Nations Industrial Development (UNIDO) and Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development (AOAD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support and develop entrepreneurs in the Kingdom’s agricultural sector.

The deal was signed by Head of UNIDO-Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO-ITPO), Dr Hashim Hussein, and AOAD Director, General Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri, at the UNIDO headquarters yesterday.

“With this agreement, we are aiming to bring in the right kind of technology that will enable the entrepreneurs to further develop and flourish in the agricultural sector,” said Dr Hashim Hussein following the signing of the deal.

He further stressed that UNIDO is seeking to support the Bahrain entrepreneurs “to help them start their business and further help them grow”.

“UNIDO is striving to develop an action plan to support entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector “by providing them with the right kind of guidance for farming practices and the best technologies that will enable them to grow with a focus in agro-processing,” he added.
