Majid Jordan to Debut in Bahrain
Manama : The Sensational Bahraini-Canadian R&B duo Majid Jordan are set to make their debut in Bahrain on the opening night of the thirteenth edition of the annual Spring of Culture festival. The concert will take place at Bahrain Bay at 8:30 pm today.
Majid Al Maskati, originally from Bahrain teamed up with Jordan Ullman in Canada creating the Majid Jordan duo. In 2013, well-known Canadian rapper, Drake, signed the duo to his record Label OVO Sound, and were also featured in one of Drake’s tracks. This track went on to become Drake’s most successful single-charting in several countries. Majid Jordan then went on to release their self-titled debut album in early 2016 to critical and commercial success, cracking the Top 10 on the R&B charts. Majid Jordan’s minimal yet soulful sound stands on its own, drawing listeners in with catchy and smooth beats. Majid Jordan are currently on their world tour of their second album titled The Space Between: A World Tour.
Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is organising the concert as part of Majid Jordan’s world tour. Tickets for the event can be purchased exclusively online on www.springofculture.org.
Thirteen years after its inauguration, the Spring of Culture festival has transformed into a landmark in Bahrain’s calendar of events. The festival contributes significantly to Bahrain’s tourism sector each year, which is a key priority sector for the EDB as part of its diversification strategy. The number of inbound tourists to Bahrain have been increasing year on year, with the total number of visitors reaching 12.7 million last year as compared to 12.2 million in 2016.
Apart from being a festival that builds cultural communication bridges between Bahrain and the rest of the world, Spring of Culture also supports SME’s in the Kingdom whose products and services are enjoyed by and promoted to a new and wider audience during the pre-shows.
