AMAISB awarded CIS membership

ManamaAMA International School Bahrain yesterday announced receiving membership in the Council of International Schools (CIS), which includes 717 schools, 570 colleges, and universities in 112 countries.

The CIS is a leader in school evaluation and accreditation worldwide, which focuses on student learning and global citizenship.

Christine Bayliss, CIS School Support and Evaluation Officer of AMAISB carried out the membership evaluation and concluded it with the 2-days visit to the school on January 28-29, 2018.

CIS assessed the alignment of the school documentation and the school practices by conducting interviews to students, teachers, parents, support staff, school leaders and school board of directors; on-site and classroom observations; and reviewing of documents.

Bayliss cited positive findings in the AMAISB Membership Visit and added that the school showed readiness for undertaking work on the Preparatory Report for accreditation.

She identified the key strengths of AMAISB, stating that the entire school community is so actively committing to, and living up to the school’s Mission and Vision.

Marietta S.Sicat, the AMA International School Bahrain Director thanked Christine Bayliss for the feedback and said the visit will give way to more benefits that the school and the students will get the advantage of it in the future.
