Riot of colours as Bahrain celebrates Holi
Manama : Thousands of people in the Kingdom celebrated ‘Holi Rangotsav’, the festival of colours, with much gusto, yesterday.
More than 3600 people gathered for the celebration held at the Shri Krishna (Hindu) Temple, Manama, turning the place into an explosion of colours as the festival rolled on with revellers dousing there near and dear ones with colours.
The festival was held with the participation of The Thattai (Bhatia) Hindu Community at the T.H.M.C. Ground, Al Hadrami Avenue, Manama.
Holi, popularly known as the Festival of Colours, is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month Phagun, which falls in March on the Gregorian calendar. The festival signifies the arrival of spring and the victory of Good over Evil.
“The festival is not just for Hindus or Indians but is for all. It gathered people from all walks of life in the Kingdom,” Sushil Muljimal Honorary Chairman Thattai Bhatia Hindu Community told DT News.
“We thank the Government and People of Bahrain, our supporters who welcomed the festive occasions with great enthusiasm and for making it a huge success.”
