Mini Olympics beefs up national teams

Manama : Bahrain Football Association president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the School Mini Olympics, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Education Ministry from March 8 to 22, is a major contributor to beefing up sports clubs and national teams in different sports.

Shaikh Ali said the event reflects the support of the committee, headed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

He noted that the BOC initiatives play a major part in the development of Bahrain sports, and is in line with the aspirations of Shaikh Nasser, adding that this year’s School Mini Olympics will see larger entries from students from all over Bahrain.

On his part, technical committee head Fadi Humaidan said the sports federations involved at this year’s School Mini Olympics are major partners in organizing their respective activities during the event.
