Kuwaiti singers to perform at Bahrain Bay on March 9

ManamaKuwaiti singers Abdallah Al Rowaished and Nabil Shuail will honour the audience with a repertoire from their past and latest albums as part of the thirteenth edition of the annual Spring of Culture festival. The concert will take place at Bahrain Bay on March 9, 2018 at 8:30 pm.

Abdallah Al Rowaished was born in 1961 in Kuwait. At a young age, he discovered a love for music when he started to play the oud. In 1973, Rowaished established the Al Roba’y Al Kuwaiti group. However, the group disbanded in 1979, since then Rowaished has focused on his solo career, which began in the early 1980s with the release of his first album under AlNazaer Music Production Company. In 1995, he signed a contract with Saudi record company Rotana. To date, he has released over 30 albums.

Nabil Shuail was born in 1962 in Kuwait. Nicknamed the Gulf Nightingale, he rose to fame in the 1980s with the song and album ‘Sikat Safar’ under DanDoon Music Production Company. Known for his ability to use multiple vocal layers while singing, Nabil Shuail is the first Gulf singer who has experimented by singing various Arabic dialects such as the Egyptian, Moroccan and Lebanese dialects. He was a pioneer in promoting Khaleeji music outside the GCC across the Arab world. To date, he has released over 26 albums.

Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is organising the upcoming concert. Tickets for the event can be purchased exclusively online on www.springofculture.org
