Bahrain to join Arab e-games federation
Manama : Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar affirmed the committee’s support to e-games as per recommendations submitted by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports to develop mind sports.
This was announced following Askar meeting with representatives of the Arab Federation for e-Games, headed by its general secretary Hashim Al Taher.
Askar welcomed the visiting delegation and discussed ways of Bahrain joining the federation, and later become a member of the Asian and International Federations.
He commended the efforts of the Arab federation in promoting and expanding e- games in the region, and stressed the BOC keenness to be involved in the federation programmes.
Meanwhile, the BOC general secretary had a meeting with Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Ali Sharafi and Bahrain Mind Sports Federation president Ali Shuwaiter and vice-president Hameed Rahma, to form an e-games committee under its umbrella.
Both sides had talks on the mechanism of activating the committee to promote e- games in the kingdom.
