2018 productive families honoured

ManamaHer Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of HM the King and Supreme Council for Women President yesterday honoured the 2018 winners of her award for productive families. The Labour and Social Development Ministry organized the 11th edition of the prize-distribution ceremony at the Sharifa Al-Awadhi Youth and Children Club in Riffa. 

HRH Princess Sabeeka commended Bahraini productive families for their efforts to develop their products to support the national economy and promote high-quality handicraft items. She hailed the progress of the project over the past years to enable productive families to diversify their options and develop their competence through training, stressing the need to explore more channels to market products. 

HRH Princess Sabeeka congratulated the 2018 laureates, hailing the growing participation of contenders who are vying for the prize which was established essentially to honour dedicated Bahrainis, promote manual work and enhance the quality of products. The Best Productive Family Award went to the family of Ahmed Abdulkarim, while Ali Jaber won the Best Product prize. The Shield of Best Sponsor of productive families went to the General Organisation for Social Insurance.  HRH Princess Sabeeka toured the exhibition which was held on the margins of the prize-distribution ceremony. A total of 255 families are taking part in the 2018 edition, which represent an increase by 33% compared with last year’s edition.  Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan thanked HRH Princess Sabeeka for patronizing the ceremony and honouring the prizewinners.
