Pasta-perfect at Lulu World Food Expo

In celebration of the World Food Expo 2018, Lulu Hypermarket, Zinj hosted a cooking demo and a competition on Thursday, March 22. The cuisine for weekend at all Lulu Hypermarkets were Oriental and Mediterranean. As part of this focus, the cooking demo and the competition were on pasta dishes. 

The cooking demonstration and competition were hosted by the super chefs Michela, Martina and Daniela of ‘Cacio & Pepe’. The demo of a new culinary approach which is a fusion of Bahraini spices and fine Italian cooking was appreciated by the audience.

The cookery competition that followed saw some of the best pastas made by amateur cooks. The participants include men, women and children. The pasta dishes were judged on taste, innovative cooking, presentation and appeal. The top three winners were rewarded with Lulu Gift Vouchers. The participants were also awarded by ‘Cacio & Pepe’ in the categories of taste, presentation and traditional Italian pasta. Some of audience members went home with gift hampers that they won as spot prizes. 

On 29th March, Lulu will invite customers and foodies to sample healthy and tasty breakfast dishes with brekkie favourites from around the world. There will be a Street Food Festival in the evening with tasty treats that make up the quickly pulled-together street food specials of different countries.

There will be a Biryani festival on 30th March and the final day, 31st March will see a Kebab Fest with a wide variety of kebabs and grilled meat delicacies cooked in different styles from around the world.
