The wait ends, Bahrain Summer Fest begins

Bahrain Summer Festival is back for the 7th time to surprise audiences with its diverse activities. The Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority (BACA) will present the its summer events tonight at 6pm in Sitra Mall, starting with the “Magical of the East and Traces of History conveyed through the voice of Um Kulthoum.” Abdel Halem Nowera band will play in the Cultural Hall at 8pm, a programme held in cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt Embassy.
BACA announced the launch of a wide range of events and activities included in the Nakhool Garden, in which many countries around the world will participate.
The first day of the Nakhool Garden will start with an opera show called "Our Heritage Unites Us", which combines parts of Bahraini heritage through the participation Bahraini Folk Art bands. From the Asian cultural side, Bollywood Steps would perform Indian’style dance.
The Nakhool Garden opens its doors today and will remain open until August 31. A diverse set of activities will spread over the four cultural weeks starting with a Gulf week, Asian week, African week and lastly European Week.
The Gulf week will run from July 31 to August 6. Various activities and workshops that promote local and Gulf cultural identity, such as "Palm Plantation," which will be held in cooperation with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development.
It will also offer other activities in the "Creative Studio,", which will present an Art Recycling workshop with artist Aisha Burashid, Heritage Textile workshop, as well as hand printing workshop.
The Asian week will host the State of Palestine, which celebrates Jerusalem as the capital of Islamic Tourism for 2015. It would be held from August 7 to 13, and will present Folklore storytelling, “puppet show".
In addition, the visitors can attend a distinct set of workshops. Also, Indian workshops will give children above 14 different art workshops.
The African week comes between August 14 and 20, where a presentation of Science and Environmental workshops will be held. More workshops on boat making, sewing, recycling and Arabic calligraphy will also be organized.
The European Week would be held from August 21 till 31, with activities such "Stories of European culture", drawing cartoon characters workshop, planting with glass workshop, flower arrangement workshop, in addition to many other activities.
Entertaining performance for children will start with the launch of Nakhoul Garden, and will continue throughout the festival.

The Festival will a bring display to Bahrain National Theater, Ballet Philippines on August 10. Sesame Street - Elmo makes music" will also be held between August 20 and 24 in the cultural hall.
By the end of August from 28 to 29, the cultural hall will experience exciting and enthusiastic orchestra concert with Wrecking Crew of Japa, which offers street dance. The band combines dance and music and its eight members perform harmonious movements perfectly in the dark, wearing dark luminous clothes, to create surreal impressive visuals.
