HM King to open ‘Mara’ee 4’ today

ManamaUnder the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the fourth edition of the Bahrain Animal Production Show 2018 (Mara’ee 4) will be opened today in the presence of invitees. The exhibition will be opened to the public from March 28 to 31.

Mara’ee is considered one of the largest shows held in Bahrain with a record turnout of citizens and residents in the previous three editions.

Holding the fourth edition of the show under the auspices of HM the King underscores the leadership’s interest in preserving animal wealth in the kingdom, boost food security and promote investment in the sector.

Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry Undersecretary for Municipality Affairs Dr. Nabil Mohammed Abul Fatah said the show, which will be held under the patronage of HM the King, will be open to the public free from 10 am to 9 pm. He added that the specialised international exhibition in animal production will boost the kingdom’s status and role in promoting food security. He also noted that the show has become an investment, academic and recreational event as well as a platform for researchers and exhibitors. He also emphasised the ministry’s keenness to ensure the specialised exhibition reflects Bahrain’s heritage and identity.

The exhibition, which will be held at the Bahrain Endurance Village, will feature shows, competitions and other functions, and the winners will be honoured.

Mara’ee was launched in accordance with the royal vision to promote Bahrain as a hub for international specialised animal production shows, given their role in consolidating food security in the country. It has evolved into an investment and recreational, as well as a platform for researchers and exhibitors to meet and exchange expertise.

90 exhibitors will participate in the cattle, sheep and goat section, where milk and meat production breeds will be presented, and about 1000 bird exhibitors will take part in the five-day event.
