A Bahraini man was killed in Syria recently, according to Twitter users with suspected links to fighters in the war-torn country. Bahraini national Fawaz Al Najris was reportedly killed while distributing humanitarian aids to children in Idlib City in northwestern Syria. Al Najris was reportedly an Islamic teacher at East Riffa Secondary School for Boys before travelling to Syria.
Among those who confirmed his death was a Twitter user named Mohammed Al Rayyes (@bu3mr) who tweeted "Fawaz Al Najris - an ex teacher at East Riffa Secondary School martyred during a bombardment while he was overseeing a milk distribution project to children on the Syrian border".
Another Twitter user, namely Shakhboot Al Dossari (@shakhbout) mourned the death of Al Najris. Al Dossari had apparently worked with the deceased, as he wrote "My colleague Fawaz Al Najris martyred in a shelling in Syria while providing humanitarian aid".
Unconfirmed online reports alleged that the deceased had played role in recruiting Bahraini men to fight in Syria against the regime's armed forces.
