Trial of accused in murder of teenager adjourned to April 17

ManamaThe trial of a Bahraini man who stabbed his friend in Hoora in January has been adjourned  by the First High Criminal Court to April 17 to hear witnesses’ testimonies.

As reported earlier, the murder occurred on January 17 in an open yard in Hoora area. The 22-year-old defendant stabbed his 18-year-old friend to death. The victim was later identified as Sudanese national Abdulla Hameed. The incident reportedly took place following a dispute between both men over a picture of the defendant, taken and uploaded online by the victim, apparently against the former’s will. According to Family and Child Prosecution Chief Attorney Amina Isa, both the victim and the defendant agreed to meet at the murder scene in Hoora to solve the dispute between them.

The matter escalated when the defendant initially threatened the victim using a knife and later stabbed him with it twice, once in the left of the chest and then on the same side of the abdomen, resulting in the latter’s death.The defendant confessed to his crime before the judges and earlier in the interrogation of the prosecution.
