Exports reach BD169m in Feb

Manama : The value of the exported national origin reached BD169m during February 2018 according a report issued by Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).

According to the foreign trade report of February 2018, the value of imports increased by 32 per cent as it reached BD440 million during February 2018 versus BD333m for the same month of the previous year, while the top ten countries account for 67pc of the imports value and 33pc for other countries.

The report which encompasses balance of trade, imports, exports (national origin) and re-exports mentioned that China was ranked as the first country that exports to Bahrain with BD55m; United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the second with BD35m whereas Australia ranked third with BD34m.

Aluminum Oxide emerged as the top product imported to Bahrain with BD32m while the four-wheel drive vehicles as the second with BD18m. AC generators were the third products with BD17m during February 2018.

Additionally, the value of the exported national origin decreased by 5pc as it reached BD169m during February 2018 versus BD177m for the same month of the year before. The top ten countries account for 83pc of the exported national origin value and 17pc for other countries.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) was ranked as the first country importing from Bahrain with BD53m, United States of America comes second with BD22m and UAE positioned third place with BD19m.

As for national export products, aluminum wire emerged as the top products exported in February 2018 with BD19m; agglomerated iron ores and concentrates were positioned second products exported with a value of BD16m; and rectangular alloyed aluminum plates stood third place for exported products with BD12m.

In regards to the re-exported field, the value of re-exports decreased by 15pc as it reached BD40m during February 2018 versus BD47m for the same month of the previous year. 

The top ten countries account for 93pc of the re-exported value and 7pc for other countries. Saudi Arabia was ranked as the first country to re-export from Bahrain with BD14m, China ranked as the second with BD6m and UAE as the third with BD5m.

Four-wheel drive cars emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD7m, Aircraft came as second products with BD2m; tugs and pusher craft came as third with
BD2m.

The trade balance, difference between exports and imports, value of the deficit of the trade balance reached BD232m during February 2018 versus BD109m for the same month of the previous year with an increase of 113pc.
