Global launch of Pirelli Hot Laps today

ManamaBahrain International Circuit (BIC) is set to host the global launch of the Formula 1 Pirelli Hot Laps today as a part of the Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

In leading up to the official start of the weekend’s events, a lucky group of fans will be treated to a series of exclusive activities under F1 Experiences – one of them being the all-new Hot Laps – as BIC and F1 aim to bring fans closer to the sport.

The F1 Pirelli Hot Laps offers motorsport lovers a mind-boggling chance to be driven around the track by a F1 driver. This is scheduled for 4.20pm.

Also for F1 Experiences guests will be a Pit Lane Walk and a Truck Tour. The pit walk will be held from 7.15pm to 7.45pm, to be followed by the truck tour from 7.45pm to 8.15pm.

The F1 Experiences are happening for the first time ever in Bahrain.

The Pit Walk allows fans to have an amazing look into what happens in a F1 team’s garage and along the pit lane. Those who take part might even be lucky enough to catch one of the sport’s star drivers make an appearance in the pits.

The Truck Tour includes a parade around the circuit in open-top buses.

Among those seen touching down at Bahrain International Airport were Finn Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes, Canadian Lance Stroll of Williams and Frenchman Pierre Gasly of Toro Rosso.

Officials from F1 and the international Automobile Federation (FIA) also continued to arrive, as well as those participating in the weekend’s two support series, namely the FIA Formula 2 Championship and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East.

Action on track begins on Friday in all three championships.
