Klidson predicts to retain championship

Manama : Light Heavyweight champion Brave Combat Federation, Klidson de Abreu has vowed to retain the championship in Brazil.

Klidson will become the first champion from Brazil to defend the championship when he faces Matt Baker from Canada in the co-main event of Brave 11, on April 13th, in Belo Horizonte.

Matt Baker stepped in as a final phase replacement for Kennedy Nzechukwu from Fortis MMA who had to withdraw from the event due to an injury.

Klidson who trains at the Evolucao Thai became the champion at Brave 8 when Brave Combat Federation hosted the event in Brazil.

Klidson was grateful for Baker stepping up for the championship fight in short notice.

However the champion have stated, “I was disappointed after Nzechukwu dropped out of the event due to injury. I have been training for a long time to defend my championship. I thank Matt Baker for stepping in, but I have to warn him that this championship belt stays back in Brazil. I am ready to fight and to defend my title. This is not just my title but Brazil’s title and this belongs to all my friends, family and supporters. It will be an honour to defend my title at home.”

“This fight card is awesome with so many amazing fights and a lot of well-known names. I am very curious to watch Bruno Malfacine. I used to watch him compete in jiu-jitsu and he is a legend. I cannot wait for his Brave debut and I know he will make his impact at the Brave Combat Federation”, added Abreu.
