Up-close with the real action!

This year, the excitement has certainly escalated to providing visitors with a more realistic experience to the F1 hype and what actually happens on the race track.

The BIC and Formula 1 enjoyed a successful global launch of the Pirelli Hot Laps last Thursday besides which hundreds had also shown up for the Pit Lane Walk and Truck Tour, aimed at bringing race fans closer to the Formula1 action.

Though the above experiences were for last Thursday only, visitors attending the Grand Prix can still enjoy some real-life F1 action at the ‘Pitstop Challenge’ situated in the F1 Vending area.

Speaking to DT News, Event Manager ‘Kieran Brennan’ shared more on how it is something new and very thrilling visitors must get their hands on. “We debuted this experience last year in Barcelona and this year, apart from Brazil and Australia, the ‘Pitstop Challenge’ will be part of all the races.

Shedding light on the mechanism involved, Kieran said “We get people to come and simulate what a real F1 pitstop looks like, this includes changing the tyres with proficiency and the skills in minimal time. We also give them a bit of training and instructions on racing as well. Visitors are encouraged to play as many times as they want to, the more practice the better and on Sunday, we will invite the fastest teams once more with the winners winning paddock passes to watch the race. Registrations are required for the experience.
