Oil discovery to augur well for economy: Northern Governor

Manama : Northern Governor, Ali bin Al-Sheikh Abdul-Hussain Al-Asfoor, has expressed optimism that the recent huge oil discovery will reflect positively on the national economy, and enhance welfare indicators, in accordance with the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030.

Speaking during the Northern Governorate’s majlis yesterday, Al-Asfoor said that the announcement by the Higher Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security of the discovery of huge tight oil and deep gas resources is a source of optimism, stressing that the sound directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa have contributed to developing the oil industry in the Kingdom, increasing economic growth and diversifying income resources.

Referring to the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix Race, hosted recently by the Kingdom, the Northern Governor extended, on behalf of the governorate’s citizens, profound congratulations to HM King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on the outstanding success of the event, noting that the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix is one of the landmark achievements attained by the Kingdom under the royal Reform Project.

The Northern Governorate’s Majlis discussed a number of issues, including the celebration of the GCC Environment Day, marked as part of the governorate’s “We Are All Partners in Peace” initiative.

The Majlis also received a delegation from the Bahrain Autistic Society, who submitted a proposal to design Bahrain mural paintings as part of the “We Are All  Partners in Peace”.

The governor instructed the relevant sides to take the necessary procedures and cooperate with the Bahrain Autistic Society to choose the site and implement the proposal.
