Female police patrolling launched
Manama : Director-General of Traffic Col. Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa yesterday announced the introduction of traffic patrols by women police after passing various training, including swift response and bodyguarding, in addition to carrying multi-tasks that make the assigned personnel capable of handling patrolling operations and other traffic law enforcement duties.
Those patrols commenced operation during the hosting of Bahrain Grand Prix Formula One and had proven effective in regulating traffic on roads leading to the Bahrain International Circuit, he added.
Col. Abdulrahman said that the trust to assign such tasks to women comes after they had demonstrated their competency in all assigned operations in administrative, financial and legal fields.
