VIVA installs region’s first 9-beam antenna at Grand Prix
Manama : VIVA Bahrain has made a regional breakthrough by deploying the region’s first nine-beam antenna technology during this year’s Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Delivering approximately nine times the capacity to absorb traffic demand of a regular mobile tower, customers, VIVA said, enjoyed seamless voice and data telecom services during the race weekend.
This step comes as the first stage of a strategic investment of VIVA to better serve the growing demand of data, while focusing on efficiency and environmentally responsible alternatives that minimizes the need to build new tower sites across Bahrain.
“A 50 per cent increase in mobile traffic demands was recorded at the event this year, which emphasizes the importance of our decision to invest in the latest innovation and to serve our customers in the best way,” said Ulaiyan Al Wetaid, VIVA Bahrain CEO.
This year, the Bahrain Grand Prix attracted close to 95,000 attendees over the race weekend, driving a large increase in mobile data traffic demands. Continuing to invest in the most advanced technology is core to VIVA’s strategy and the company is strongly committed to delivering the best customer experience and connectivity services in Bahrain.
