Bahrain Keralaeeya Samajam to celebrate May Day
Manama : Bahrain Keralaeeya Samajam will hold their May Day celebration on 1st May 2018 with various cultural and health awareness programmes.
Around 2000 labourers from different labour camps in the kingdom are expected to take part in the activities held under the patronage of Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan.
“Competitions in Indian movie songs, Malayalam folk songs, mimicry, monoact, kabaddi, tug-of-war, and arm-wrestling are arranged,” said BKS Acting President Mohan Raj P.N and General Secretary M.P.Raghu during a press conference. The event will be held from 10 am to 5 pm.
A representative of the Ministry of Labour, Dr Mohammed Ali Al Ansari, representatives from the Indian Embassy, representatives and several others will take part in the valedictory function scheduled at 4 pm. Employ friendly employers in Bahrain will be honoured on the occasion.
Counters of traffic department, LMRA, NORKA, and Kerala Government Welfare Fund will be arranged at the venue.
A 101 member committee with Rafeeq Abdulla as convenor and Varghese George as joint convenor have been formed for the coordinating the activities.
