Tourism gets a major boost
Manama : Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) held a roadshow in Russia to further strengthen the Kingdom’s position on the global tourism map.
The Kingdom’s delegation was headed by BTEA officials and included representatives from Gulf Air, a number of hotels and travel agents.
The roadshow, part of BTEA’s strategy to promote the MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) sector, was in line with BTEA’s mission to host leading international events and exhibitions that will attract visitors and tourists from the region and abroad.
The move also formed part of BTEA’s strategic outreach programme to promote the tourism brand ‘Ours Yours’ aimed at showcasing the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal tourist destination to the regional and international markets
BTEA officials held several meetings with tour operators in order to bring large-scale tourist groups to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“We are working closely with our representative office in Russia to increase the tourism influx to Bahrain to further support the growth and development of the tourism sector and the national economy. The delegation was able to discuss the Kingdom’s tourism offering, further promoting it as an ideal tourist destination,” said the Director of Tourism Marketing and Promotions at BTEA, Yousef Al Khan.
