People are key to security: Premier

Manama : His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has said that the citizens, with their cohesion and unity, are the key to security and stability.

HRH Premier stressed that the focus should be on carrying on the development march, noting that development is the ultimate goals that the government and people of Bahrain seek to achieve through hard and fruitful work.

“We have achieved a lot, praise be to Allah, and we look forward to the future for the sake of the welfare of the people of Bahrain. There are no limits for our ambitions regarding the good of Bahrain and its people,” the Prime Minister said in a comprehensive interview with the “Arrajol” magazine.

HRH Premier stressed that “achieving national security and stability, and advancing the development process in a way that ensures the prosperity of the people of Bahrain top all our priorities.”

“We put comprehensive development as a permanent goal for the government, Therefore, we are keen on achieving stability, as there is no development without security and stability, and our ambitions are big, and Bahrain’s future will be better, God willing,” he said.

HRH Premier boasts a development and democratic experience supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to it has attained multiple achievements and gains.HRH Prime Minister pointed out that the government supports an investment-attracting climate, provides more incentives and develops legislations and laws that regulate work in various fields and make Bahrain the best destination for investors.

The government also focuses on creating more job opportunities for Bahraini youth, he added.

On Bahraini-Saudi relations, HRH the Prime Minister stressed that they are strong and deep-rooted thanks to the support of the two brotherly countries’ leaderships and peoples.

HRH Premier affirmed that Saudi Arabia is the strong supporter of Bahrain, as well as of Arab and Islamic nations, hailing Saudi Arabia’s historical role, and influential weight in dealing with various issues or problems.

HRH Prime Minister prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect Saudi Arabia, and to bless its leadership and people, wishing them every success in their endeavours to achieve good for Arabs, Muslims, and even the entire world.

Regarding the internal changes led by Saudi Arabia, HRH Premier said that are within the country’s development and modernisation efforts to keep abreast of the progress movement in the world, noting that they take Saudi Arabia’s specificity and are the result of in-depth studies, wishing Saudi Arabia and its people every success.HRH Premier lauded the role played by the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud, expressing admiration for his initiatives.

Tackling Arab issues, HRH The Prime Minister indicated that the Arab World is going through a critical turning point in its history, stressing that this phase is distinguished by the “great awakening” led Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to face challenges to the Arab Nation.

Regarding the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), HRH Premier said that GCC countries are in the same boat, noting that what harms a member state will affect others, and what benefits a country will have its positive impact on everyone.

Asked about his vision about the future of the Arab Nation, HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the only way for Arab countries to be able to face challenges and confront risks is solidarity and cohesion.

“Yes, others cannot penetrate our countries and peoples, as long as we are united and cohesive. We have enough lessons from which we draw inspiration in our current and future steps,” he said.

With regard to terrorism, HRH Premier stressed that it is a transient and temporary phenomenon whatever its repercussions are.

“Terrorism is a scourge afflicting the whole world, and not the Arab world. We have experienced it in Bahrain, and we were among the first countries to engage in the international coalition to fight terrorism,” HRH Premier said.
