Bapco on a green mission

Manama : Jidhafs Technical Secondary School for Boys came out with flying colours in the 13th Green School Award held by the Bahrain Petroleum Company.

Al-Noor Secondary School for Girls and Jidhafs School for Girls won second and third place respectively.

The award ceremony was held yesterday at the Bapco Club - Awali, under the patronage of the Minister of Oil, Chairman of Bapco’s Board of Directors Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. 

This year, the Green School Award witnessed the participation of 21 government secondary schools, which displayed a number of key environmental projects and initiatives. 

“Bapco takes great pride in continuing this ambitious program which has remarkably succeeded over the past years in launching a number of key environment projects which have greatly contributed to improving the air quality and waste management, in addition to preserving the environment,” said Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive Chairman of EHSC Committee Ebrahim Talib as he honoured the winners. 

Present at the ceremony were the Director of Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education Ebrahim Ali Burshaid. Also present were members of Bapco’s Board and Management, and key officials of the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE).  

The judging and organizing committee members were also awarded at the ceremony for their dedicated efforts in making the ceremony a success.
