Cavalheiro targets Amoussou
Manama : Rodrigo Cavalheiro have set his targets on the newly signed Karl Amoussou following his victory at Brave 11 hosted in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Cavalheiro is currently training at the Noguchi Team and was set to debut in Brave Combat Federation during Brave 6: Kazakhstan.
However his first fight was delayed till the eleventh edition of the event in Brazil where he knocked out Alessandro Gambulino in the very first round.
Cavalheiro who is a part of American To Team is a former competitor at XFC, Titan FC, KSW and Bellator, who has 21 victories out of his 28 appearances.
“I am ready to compete with anyone. I had my eyes on Fakhreddine because he was the reason my Brave debut was postponed but a bout with Karl Amoussou interests me. Let us wait and see what Brave has in store for me. I am here to be a world champion and I’m going to make sure everyone knows who I am in this Welterweight division,” said Cavalheiro.
Amoussou had been a part of the camp at KHK MMA Bahrain training alongside the line up of fighters who are preparing for Brave 12: KHK Legacy.
The welterweight fighter, who was the Welterweight champion at Cage Warriors and the former title contender at Bellator, have not responded to the statement by Cavalheiro.
Cavalheiro was originally scheduled to compete against Carlston Harris at Brave 8: The Rise of Champions hosted in Curitiba, Brazil however Harris was promoted to contest for the championship as Mohammad Fakhreddine was unable to compete after the weigh-ins.
Harris went ahead to capture the championship at the welterweight division following a unanimous decision against Carl Booth.
