Let the Baby Games begin

Manama : There will be no shortage of fun and tot-friendly activities at Isa Sports City in Riffa today, as it will witness the opening of the first-ever Baby Games in the Kingdom. 

With more than 1,000 kids from 29 nurseries and 37 pre-schools in the fray, the event is going to be an exciting attraction for Children. 

Taking place at the Bahrain Volleyball Association Hall in Riffa, the games are organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee. 

Keeping the kids active and happy at the event will be activities in four different sports -athletics, gymnastics, football and basketball. 

The games target children in the age group from 2 to 4 and aim to create awareness among youngsters on the need to practice sports exercises and promote Olympic principles. 

The games’ action will take place at the Bahrain Sports Federation for People with Disabilities, located at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

Organising Committee, headed by chairman Lounes Madene, had a technical meeting with representatives of the participants as well as the Education Ministry and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs at the National Stadium to explain the rules and regulations of the games to the participants ahead of kick off.

Madene expressed satisfaction with the training programme and pointed out that a technical meeting was fruitful.The games have received a major sponsorship boost from Mothercare and Lulu Group, according to BOC marketing head Mahmood Ashori, who said the sponsorship reflects both companies’ commitment to supporting national sporting events.
